What are some of your favorite STEAM activities that you like to do with elementary students (bonus if you can share something that could be done as a family!)?

I was having so much trouble with finding some pattern block task cards to help students who are struggling with geometry skills that I decided to make my own! Attached you will find 16 task cards and all you need is some pattern blocks! What other activities do you do with student to help understand geometry standards?

What special things do you do to get ready for state testing? Our younger grades adopt a class. They will make cards for each day of testing and include a small treat like a mint taped to the card.

A teacher comes to you concerned about a student who struggles with reading comprehension, especially when confronted with lengthy texts. What strategy would you recommend to help the student improve comprehension skills?

As a Kindergarten teacher, I guide my students through a calendar routine everyday that includes the date, the weather, counting how many days we have been in school and singing songs about the days of the week and the months of the year. Is there anything else that you do that has been helpful to review or introduce your students to skills that could be added in this time?
