We do common assessments every 9 weeks to measure ongoing progress. For daily and weekly monitoring try Xtra Math. The kids love it and we celebrate becoming a master of each area. In first grade it’s typically addition and subtraction BUT if a kid is ready for multiplication we let them give it a try.

We use Reflex Math which is a program that tracks fluency. We also use timed fact fluency as part of a bell ringer or an exit ticket.

Graham Fletcher has a fluency kit that we use for both addition/ subtraction and multiplication/ division. It is wonderful and follows the CRA model!

At my school we use Legends of Learning Base Camp for students to learn math facts. I receive a report showing all of the facts that they know and what they currently need to work on.

I use the free version of xtramath.com. When a student masters an operation, we have a class party and celebrate by playing a Gimkit on multiplication. I teach 4th grade so multiplication facts are very important and need lots of practice time. The student picks the version of the Gimkit game that we play.
