We are closing out the year this week with a unit on he olympics and our own first grade olympics! It’s a favorite every year.

No, I considered it when we read "Koala Lou" by Mem Fox, which mentions the Olympics. I thought it would be a great jumping-off point, but the kids just weren't interested.
