What end of the year activities does your school do?
My school likes to do ABC countdowns and field day.

We also do an ABC countdown.
As we also live in Indianapolis, we hold a Kindy 500 each year where we have raced themed stations for students to rotate thru.

We have a few themed days that are always a hit! We have the olympics, paper, rock, scissors tournament, beach day, dinosaur day, and water day! I teach first and we celebrate and learn at the end of the year!

I am attaching our ABC Countdown from last year.

Our school also likes to do the ABC countdown as an elementary building… we are a Title 1 building and we cut out a day of school count down because many of our students are from rough homes … and the countdown really seemed to be a catalyst for poor behaviors.

We have activities but we base it on behavior. This way the students have to earn the activity and it has really helped the students focus. For example, in my classroom, I have a fun Friday every other week that begins in the last quarter. The better the class behavior (and work completion) the more involved the celebration. For this, I ask parent involvement, spend lead teacher money, and support from admin to make it a success.
