Today, and hour into our day, the power went out in parts of the building due to weather. How do you quickly switch your teaching when you have no power or Internet?

I would go a read aloud while I thought of something we could do.

We have played lots of games of Simon Says to take low tech brain breaks, read a book in front of our window, and we used some flashlights to read in the dark!

I would play around the word with math facts up to 20 or read a book.

Read Alouds are perfect! I especially like flashlight reading or echo reading during these times! Such a fun time to be creative.
