How do you include Science throughout your day when there might not be a dedicated block of time?

When I taught, I did a project per unit, where I integrated science with reading/literature and math. The project usually involved some building, collaboration, reading, and writing. The projects included keeping a spreadsheet of materials they “purchased” from me and the virtual “money” they spent, received in refunds and a balance of what they have left. If the project involves construction, then measurements and Newton’s Laws of Motion may apply.
I like to weave science into other subjects, like reading/proving science-themed books during Reading or doing simple experiments during math to teach measurement. Sometimes, we talk about the weather or nature during transitions, morning meetings or breaks. This way, science becomes a natural part of our routine, even without a set time block.
This is the same issue for social studies. Trying to find time to fit all the subjects in can be difficult. Planning is vital to allow each subject to be addressed every day. It can be in the ELA or Math block. Teaching the history of something or how math is used in voting/ taxes can all be avenues to the other subjects. Bell ringers are also a quick way to involve all subjects.
When I taught 4th grade, I would infuse it with math and reading. Many of the measurement and data standards aligned super well with science. We would read about whatever our topic was in reading and then infuse math and science especially with laps! Then I could use a lap report as a writing grade.
