How do you celebrate and talk about Earth Day with your students? What are some books and resources you use?

I have done an earth day coffee filter craft. The students have to color a coffee filter with blue and green marker to resemble the earth, then spray it with water. I have also shown videos about recycling.

One Plastic Bag is one of my favorite books to connect to real world problem solving. It is a beautiful story and can easily be connected to a students perspective.

We talk about the Indigenous perspective in relation to the land and what a responsibility it is to respect it.

We spend most of the day outside. We do a nature walk, scavenger hunt. playground clean up, stop drop and read in nature, a day full of sunshine and learning!
