I am certified as a middle level generalist. National board certification is challenging and highly reflective.

Michigan does not really recognize this as an asset.. there are many states that reward teachers with large bonuses and even sometimes yearly rewards… some folks have been working on this at the state level

I am board certified and work with teachers in a coaching capacity in Arizona and Nevada.

I haven't pursued National Board Certification and don't plan to. While I see some benefits, my current focus is on other professional goals like supporting new teachers and promoting inclusivity. The process is also quite time-consuming, and I prefer to invest my efforts in areas where I can make an immediate impact.

I am National Board certified and renewed in December of 2023. The process really helps you to reflect on your teaching practice.

I have definitely thought about it but paying for it is holding me back a little right now. I’ve also heard that literacy is easier than math but I’m a math interventionist. Any advice you can share?
